Allison Krajcik, born in rural Southeastern Massachusetts, works in pastel and oil to capture landscape and still life subjects. She also works as a color consultant at Turning Point Redesign, a company she founded in 2007. At the age of 12, Allison traveled cross-country with her family, camping and visiting many of the national parks which inspired her love of the landscape’s natural beauty. This experience, coupled with the advice of a high school art teacher, motivated her to pursue a career in fine art and design.
After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, she continued her professional training through participation in workshops with various artists. She explored oil painting with Caleb Stone, Mary Moquin, and Stuart Shils, as well as taking a year-long painting course to explore color harmony with western painter Skip Whitcomb and a plein air workshop with Kathie Odom. She has also explored pastel painting techniques with Dawn Emerson (author of Pastel Innovations), Tara Will, and Loriann Signori.
The pandemic shifted the balance between consulting and painting to allow Allison to spend more time painting to assemble a cohesive body of work. As a result, the work has been juried into many national and international exhibitions and consistently won awards.
Since her reemergence in 2020, she has pursued membership with art organizations. Although she has been a member of the Oil Painters of America since 2006, she has also become a Signature member of both the Pastel Society of America and the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod. She has most recently been accepted to the Copley Society of Boston, and her work has been published in American Art Collector Magazine and Art & Color 365.
